Water Building Resort Converts Air Into Purified Water

The Water Building Resort, is a self-sustainable hightech building of postmodern design by the architect Orlando De Uruttia, a member of the TEEX© Consortium. Architecturally and thematically designed in the shape of a falling drop of water, the Water Building Resort will be the first building ever to convert air into water with a combination of nature and technology: The facade of the building is designed to face the sun and is covered in photovoltaic glass, which not only lets light in but also effectively captures the sun's rays to be converted into solar power. The opposite side of the building uses a latticed design for ventilation and features unprecedented WaterMicron™ equipment to convert humid air into pure drinking water.

Restaurants, gyms, exhibition halls, hotel and conference rooms, and spa services will fill the upper floors - all based on the theme of water, the environment and renewable energy. An underwater aquarium will sit at the base of the Water Building Resort, rounding out the water conscious theme and practices.

Designed for construction along warm and humid coasts, the Water Building Resort will also house a water treatment facility for purifying sea and rain water in the bottom floor. WaterMicron's Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) each produce up to 5.000 liters of pure drinking water a day, a volume of 21,17 m3 supporting about 48 people using an average of 105 liters per person. The AWGs work best in temperatures from 20 to 40 degree celsius and a humidity between 35% at 95%. The combination of these water sources guarantee enough water throughout the building for all purposes.
